But Peter, everyone has to go through this stage of their lives to get to the next one, don't they? It doesn't matter what their sexual orientation... I read just as 'outrageous' tales in the blogs of younger straight people. I've struggled with this one a lot, and decided that, at the end of the day, a person is a person. It may sound weird to you, but almost the last thing I think about when I meet someone new is a person's gender or sexuality. Yes, their life, experiences and beliefs may be different to mine at this point in time but why can't we explore and celebrate the differences? Learn from each other? Are you doing job-lots? :) [Wed 18 Jun 09:27 BST] Peter i think we all know what makes a man a man. genitalia. theres no such thing as a 'pretendy' man (except maybe a drag king). as for 'real' men, well, what the fuck are they? everyones idea of realness is different. a man who does a manual job, has muck under his nails, drinks pints in straight pubs and is mildly tolerant of the odd drunken old queen (i'm naming no-one to protect the innocent) is no more a real man that the honest, out of the closet, screaming queen, mincing round town with an expensive haircut and a tight lycra t-shirt. in fact, imho, the mincing queen wins hands-down in the 'realness' stakes. but if we're talking about which one we want to have sex with then i think most homo's would want to add a little bit more 'muck' to the labourers finger nails (and then go out for a drink and a good laugh with the mincing queen). i'll shut up now. good debate though.
