Extreme genius. In later life fell in love with a young man. Mathematician, naturally.
Heterosexuality is not a barrier to consideration, provided the person made a significant contribution to the welfare of British gay people. There are a number of heterosexual people in the list of nominees.

Overseas people are more than welcome to take part. The nominations were made in late November.

Vote now for your chance to select up to twenty favourites. Remember - your vote will make a difference, even though Davina is nowhere to be seen!

Once the Top Ten is finalised, we'll be looking for volunteers to support and promote "their man" or "their woman". Just like the BBC did. And then we'll have a quite astonishing vote!

I have to especially thank Charlie of Here Inside for his scholarship and erudition. And also Tony of Wordwrap Web Development for creating and independently maintaining the voting database.

Coming up later this weekend...

A complete info page about ALL the nominees!

No more questions? Then move straight to your fabulous gay ONLINE BALLOT FORM, and vote like there was no tomorrow!

Appearance in the list should not be taken as any indication of a person's sexual orientation. A number of heterosexual people are included, where their lives are thought to have benefitted gay men and women.
